Just a short blog today.
Late yesterday evening we received a call from the Clinic that some antibiotics had been called in to help deal with my cold. I was hoping that would happen on Monday! Still fighting it, but hopefully the medicine will whack it. Nurse Rachel had great aim this morning, especially from about an inch away. I’d take her every time. That’s all that is on the agenda for the day, other than as many naps as I can muster. Having Caryn here for two days meant more than I could ever express. Unfortunately, she understands a lot of what I am going through, physically and emotionally. I more than wish that she didn’t. How she has handled things has given me great insight. Having her here was also a great comfort to me. This cold must be rearing itself again. My eyes seem to be sweating as I write. I thank God for the precious gift of her love. I must admit that recovering from the surgery to insert the central line has been far more difficult than I anticipated. The next time I hear on the news that someone was stabbed in the neck I will have empathy for them. The original plan was to have the catheter inserted the day prior to the chemotherapy. If I was receiving chemo today it would be a very tough thing. It also appears that the injections to stimulate the stem cells may be working. I am feeling the side effect of most of my body feeling achy. I take that as good news. My best friend the past 24 hours has been the bottle of Tylenol.
