I woke up before the alarm went off and had a time of devotion with the Lord. During these days of Lent I am trying to give God the “first fruit” of each day. More than often the day goes better when I do.
That is the same principle that I have applied for 50 years, since I was about 12-13 years old. I believe that we have been blessed because we give God the first fruit, our tithe, before we do anything else with His blessings. I headed to church for a men’s prayer group this morning. It was good to see the guys. Their response was pretty typical, “You look great.” Maybe at some point I will look as expected. Chemotherapy will likely contribute to that. Here’s an update on the “journal.” By the grace of God, it is still in its box. I’m thinking of returning it. $6.30 is $6.30. Then again, maybe stuffing it under the backseat of my car might be a wiser decision. A side note to that story is that when Nick flew to Rochester, his Teresa had placed a journal in his luggage. My blog post on the journal didn’t post until Nick was in the air heading to Rochester. Pretty amazing. Last night was the best night’s sleep I have had in a while. I was a bit concerned about that after napping for a couple of hours late in the evening. I can tell that my body is beginning to heal from the radiation by the number of times I woke up in the night. Guys more than gals might understand that. I failed to say anything about how well my much-maligned 2010 Explorer ran. It turned over a mere 325K before we got home. It snowed every day in Rochester until the last couple of days. It was nice to have a 4-wheel drive in the show. I think I am having steak withdrawal. Short blog today. Thanks for your continued prayers.
